Bob Quist Art

Bob started painting warm, tropical beach scenes in Upstate NY in the winter of 2003, after living 15 years in St. Thomas. Initially self-taught with oils. Bob  learned  still life and plein air from  Deborah Bayly at the Art Center of the Capitol Region in Troy NY.

Moving to Carmel CA in 2014,  Bob became connected with  Carmel Visual Arts. The Center brought talented artists to the beautiful California Central Coast area for workshops, including still life with Angus Wilson, seascapes with Karen Blackwood and plein air with Randall Sexton.

Additionally, Bob had been exposed to many plein air experiences with Maggie Renner Hellmann of Santa Cruz. Mary Titus was an acrylic abstract influence with several provoking workshops.

When traveling, he often journals with ink and watercolors.

Frequently  painting waterscapes, Bob also creates still life and figurative pieces.
